摘要
Renewable clean energy is one of the most profound challenges faced by human society. Organic solar cells have been under rapid developments for past decades, owning to their low cost and short energy-pay-back-time due to their solution processability. Until now, most of the high performance solar cells manufactured in research lab uses spin coating method. However, spin coating method is not scalable for industrial applications. Moreover, the power convert efficiency of the solar cells drops significantly when transfer from spin coating to roll-to-roll printing. The gap between lab scale and industrial scale manufacture yet to be filled. In this talk, I will present recent works in Prof. Zhenan Bao group aiming to close this gap. We used advanced real time synchtron based X-ray diffraction techniques to understand the morphology development during the roll-to-roll printing process. Based on this morphology understanding, we further optimized an all polymer solar cell that can be scaled up from a lab scale spin coating to consciously roll-to-roll printing method using a custom-built roll-to-roll coater without significant efficiency loss.

顾晓丹,现任南密西西比大学高分子科学与工程系助理教授。 顾博士于2008年毕业于南京大学化学系,2013年毕业于麻省大学Amherst分校高分子系, 师从著名高分子物理学家Thomas Russell (美国院士) 博士毕业后,顾博士于2014至2016年在斯坦福大学著名有机半导体材料学家鲍哲楠教授课题组从事博士后研究。 顾博士长期致力于功能高分子物理相关领域, 包括有机光电材料形貌,光电器件,基于X光同步辐射,中子散射技术的膜结构表征。在包括 Nature Commun., Adv Mater, JACS and PNAS, 等国际刊物发表论文30余篇,被引用800次。同时担任美国国家研究NSF项目,同步辐射实验室项目的评阅人,及包括Adv. Mater., Adv. Energy Mater., ACS Nano, Macromolecular 等知名期刊审稿人。顾博士获得多项荣誉,其中包括同步辐射博士奖学金(Advanced Light Source doctoral fellowship)。
