Participate in international conferences

(1)Participated in the 22nd International Conference on Process Integration, Modeling, Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Optimization.

On October 20-23, 2019, Project leader Professor Shen Wenhao was invited by Greek partner Professor Panagiotis Seferlis of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. To participate in the 22nd International Conference on Process Integration, Modelling, held in Crete, Greece, Optimisation for Energy Saving and Pollution Reduction . During the meeting, Prof. Shen Wenhao, Modeling of greenhouse gas emissions during wastewater treatment process and the preliminary study on its merits reduction with PID control was the topic

 of the report.


 


(2)Attend the 2021 International Conference on Cleaner Production and Sustainable Development online.

From December 12 to 13, 2021, Niu Guoqiang and Li Wenqing participated remotely in the 2021 International Conference on Cleaner Production and Sustainable Development held at Delasha University of the Philippines. The conference provides an opportunity for sustainable development to promote green cooperation and development of countries along the Belt and Road in the context of current global climate governance and the desire to be carbon neutral. During the meeting, The two members of the project team respectively discussed A hierarchical intelligent control strategy for greenhouse gas reduction in wastewater treatment process of paper mill and A greenhouse gas emission mechanism model of wastewater treatment plant for an existing paper mill gave an oral presentation on the topic.


 



Organize remote video conferences

(1)On September 11, 2020, the research group of Professor Shen Wenhao from the State Key Laboratory of Pulp and Paper Engineering of South China University of Technology and members of the foreign research group from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece held a remote video conference on the stage progress of the project. Two aspects of fault diagnosis in wastewater treatment process and Optimal control of dissolved oxygen for reducing GHG emission in papermaking wastewater biochemical treatment process were discussed. Both sides gave their own views and suggestions on the problems they found in the work. The Greek professor gave careful answers and guidance to the doubts our students encountered in the work. The two sides discussed the follow-up research plan of the project.


 


(2)On March 19, 2021, the research group of Professor Shen Wenhao from the State Key Laboratory of Pulp and Paper Engineering of South China University of Technology and members of the foreign research group from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece held the second remote video conference on the stage progress of the project. During the meeting, the Chinese side had an in-depth discussion with the Greek side on the two research contents under the topics of Estimation of N2O emission in papermaking wastewater treatment and Fault diagnosis in papermaking wastewater treatment. In addition, both parties jointly summarized the current research progress of the project and discussed the follow-up research plan in detail.


 


(3)On April 13, 2022, the research group of Professor Shen Wenhao from the State Key Laboratory of Pulp and Paper Engineering of South China University of Technology and members of the foreign research group from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece held a remote video conference on the stage progress of the project. In this paper, Advanced control system framework for GHG emission reduction in sewage treatment process, GHG emission mechanism model of paper mill and comprehensive evaluation of GHG emission reduction based on dissolved oxygen control strategy are discussed in depth. Both sides gave their own views and suggestions on the problems they found in the work. The Greek professor gave careful answers and guidance to the doubts our students encountered in the work. The two sides discussed the follow-up research plan of the project.
