The School persists in aiming at the forefront of discipline and professional development, conducting basic, applied, and interdisciplinary scientific research. Over the past five years, the college's scientific research performance has gradually improved. It has presided over and undertaken a total of 231 scientific research projects, including 68 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and 55 projects at the provincial and ministerial levels, with an average of 2.47 projects per faculty member. From 2013 to 2018, a total of 691 research papers were published, with 549 papers indexed by SCIE, accounting for 79.5% of the total number of published papers; 4 textbooks and 5 monographs were published; 4 software copyrights were approved, and 2 invention patents were granted; 1 second prize of the Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Award was awarded; and 14 papers from our college were included in the ESI Highly Cited Papers in 2018.
