Title: The complex short pulse equation and its integrable discretization

Abstract:

        In this talk, we are concerned with a complex short pulse (CSP) equation of focusing and defocusing types. By using both Hirota’s bilinear method and Darboux transformation method, we will show how to construct its bright, breather and rogue wave solutions to the focusing CSP equation and dark soliton solution to the defocusing CSP equation. Then, we propose a semi-discrete analogue of the CSP equation and its corresponding solutions of the semi-discrete CSP equation of both the focusing and defocusing types.
