Abstract：  

The nonconvexity of many problems often hinder the algorithms to achieve the global optimizers. In this talk, we will present some recent advance on finding global solutions in optimization with orthogonality constraints, phase retrieval problems and a low-nonnegative-rank approximation method to identify the state aggregation structure of a finite-state Markov chain.
