Yu research group is focused mainly on spatial audio, binaural hearing, signal processing and psychoacoustics.

Currently, the near-field HRTF database is established by this group for 56 Chinese subjects. In addition,they also did a lot of works about sound source localization. The research results will be applied into binaural hearing and spatial sound reproduction of hand-held multimedia devices.
