The speech focuses on an optimization model for the voltage control in a distribution network, which exploits the flexibility provided by parking lots equipped with several electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. The problem is solved according to a centralized approach by the definition of voltage control zones. To provide an ancillary service to the network, the EV aggregator of the charging stations in the parking lot can vary the intra-day scheduling inside the flexibility margins calculated in advance by using a multistage stochastic optimization procedure so to guarantee the appropriate EV charging level.

ALBERTO BORGHETTI, Professor, University of Bologna, Italy. He is an IEEE Fellow (class 2015) for contributions to modeling of power distribution systems under transient conditions. Resident corresponding, Academy of Sciences of Bologna Institute (since 2022). Technical Program Committee chairperson of the 2021 International Conference on Power Systems Transients IPST and of the 2010 30th Int. Conf. on Lightning Protection. Chair of the 2016 Bologna CIGRE Colloquium on Lightning and Power systems, and special reporter for CIGRE 2018. He has received the ICLP Scientific Committee Award in 2016 and the 2018 CIGRE Technical Council Award for Study Committee C4. From 2010 to 2017, he served as an Editor of IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, and from 2018 to 2021 as Editor of IEEE Transactions on Power Systems. He currently serves as an Associate Editor of Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy (MPCE) and since 2019 as Editor-in-Chief of Electrical Engineering – Archiv fur Elektrotechnik.
