报告摘要：

Plastics and microplastic (MPs) arecurrently used widely in our daily life; however, poor management and disposalof plastic wastes result in their ubiquity throughout the biosphere. To date,there still lacks a comprehensive understanding of the sources, distribution,transport, and fate of MPs in different environmental compartments, whichimpedes the incisive establishment of efficient strategies toward addressingthis problem. In this talk, I would like to discuss the wide issues of MPpollution and their control strategies and technologies. I will also presentthe recent work of my group in catalytic degradation of plastics and MPs andtransformation for water treatment.

报告人简介:

王少彬，澳大利亚阿德莱德大学化学工程学院教授及澳大利亚桂冠教授。毕业于北京大学，获学士和硕士学位,1998年获澳大利亚昆士兰大学博士学位。曾被澳大利亚科廷大学授予John-Curtin杰出教授等称号。主要研究领域和方向为纳米材料研制及在环境和能源转化上的应用。2016-2022年先后入选科睿唯安工程，化学，与环境及生态学领域全球高被引学者。在Nature Sustainability、Nature Water、Nature Communications等期刊发表论文800余篇，现担任Applied Catalysis B,Chemical Engineering Journal Advances副主编和Journal of Colloid and Interface Science联合编辑和几个国际学术期刊的编委。
