报告人简介：

Geoffrey I. N. Waterhouse教授是新西兰皇家科学院属下的化学院院士（Fellow）, 英国皇家化学学会院士/会士（Fellow）。是2019年和2020年世界跨领域高被引科学家（在材料科学、化学和物理）。2020年, 获得新西兰化学界最高奖(Maurice Wilkins Center Prize for Chemical Science, 这最高奖每年最多一个获奖者)。现担任新西兰国家级先进材料与纳米技术卓越研究中心（MacDiarmid）的科研决策领导(Scientific Executive)、能源领域领袖(Theme Leader)和首席研究员(Principal Investigator) 。是中国科技部高端外国专家人才, 中国科学院光化学转换与光电材料重点实验室客座教授, 华南理工大学和山东农业大学讲座教授。他的科研领域包括纳米材料合成，绿色能源，太阳能采集利用、催化, 生物活性物/药物输送系统、包装材料和光学传感器开发, 农药、重金属、病毒和生物标志物的检测。已出版国际专著书章11篇, 国外专利申请/授权9项, 发表同行评审SCI期刊论文260篇(平均期刊影响因子约9.0; 总引用14400次, 其中最高单篇引用约980 )。

报告的摘要：

This seminar will overview recent collaborative research aimed at the development of low cost catalysts for hydrogen production via water splitting, CO₂ reduction to CO and other commodity chemicals, and N₂ fixation to ammonia. Particular emphasis will be placed on the potential of 3d transition metal single atom catalysts (SACs) as alternatives to precious metal catalysts for oxygen electrocatalysis and CO₂RR.
