1996年以来,Michael Tschantz博士一直在MeadWestvaco公司有机碳排放控制和监管技术部工作。除了推广活性炭在汽车污染物排放控制的应用,Michael还与美国环保署以及加州空气资源委员会合作,协助进行以削减美国汽车、海上船舶、小型发动机设备和加油站VOC排放为目的的法规制定。Michael目前是欧盟委员会的欧6标准工作组挥发污染物排放成员,担任制造商排放控制协会执行委员会委员,以及美国化学工程学院(AICHE)区域总裁。Michael现在正与中国、日本、韩国等国家的环保机构合作解决当地的问题。Michael开发了昼夜、挥发排放清单模型,目前正与清华大学、美国田纳西大学合作编制中国的挥发污染物(停车场昼夜VOC)排放清单。Michael拥有多项专利,并研发了多种挥发污染物控制产品得到了市场化应用。Michael在美国田纳西大学获得的化学工程博士学位。
Dr. Michael Tschantz has been with MeadWestvaco Corporation since 1996 and handles regulatory and technical affairs for the Carbon Technologies Department.In addition to working on the application of activated carbon on automobiles, Michael has worked with the US EPA and California Air Resources Board to continue strengthening US evaporative regulations to reduce VOC emissions from automobiles, marine craft, small engine equipment, and gas stations.Michael currently serves on the European Commission's Euro 6 working group for evaporative emissions, has an appointment on the executive committee of the Manufacturers of Emissions Controls Association (MECA), and is president of the Low Country section of AIChE (American Institute of Chemical Engineering).Michael is now working with national environmental agencies in Japan, South Korea, and China to address local issues.Michael has developed a diurnal and evaporative emissions inventory model and is currently working with Tsinghua University and the University of Tennessee in developing an inventory for China.Michael has been awarded several patents and has developed a number of marketed products in the area of evaporative controls.Michael holds a PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Tennessee.
