报告人简介:

Han Zuilhof is the Chair of OrganicChemistry at Wageningen University in the Netherlands, with strong ties to various universities in China (Tianjin Univ, Jiaxing Univ). His interests include surface-bound organic chemistry (how to better control organic reactions at a surface) and organic chemistry towards more efficient and mild reactions for small-molecule, macrocycle, polymer and polymer-brush synthesis. He also very much enjoys watching the sky via a telescope. He loves all of China, but Guizhou is his favorite province.

报告摘要:

Click chemistry has revolutionized many facets of the molecular sciences, with the realization of reactions that are modular, wide in scope, give very high yields, are stereospecific, and require only benign or no solvents. Yet, despite tremendous advantages, surprisingly little attention has been given to a) the development of intrinsically chiral click reactions (enantiospecific, rather than ‘only’enantioselective due to chiral auxiliary groups), b) the modularity, as many click reactions are best compared to one-dimensional LEGO, and c) the strictlimitations on acceptable solvents.

The talk will focus on our resulting investigations in the field of S(VI) exchange chemistry, with specific emphasis on these fields: a) the development of intrinsically enantiospecific click reactions and their use to e.g. make chiral macrocycles or syntheticpolymers with 100% backbone chirality that combine stability &degradability, b) the development of multimodular click chemistryand single-polymer studies by a combination of AFM, TEM, scanning Augermicroscopy, and c) the recent development of solvent-free enantiospecific click reactions.
