The School of Automation Science and Engineering boasts profound educational heritage, with its roots tracing back to the Automation major at South China University of Technology established in 1958. Over more than six decades of educational practice, the school has continuously deepened discipline construction, talent cultivation, and scientific research innovation. With profound historical accumulation and outstanding development achievements, it has written a brilliant chapter in higher education. Focusing on the needs of emerging industries such as the low-altitude economy and artificial intelligence, the school has built the first-level discipline of Control Science and Engineering, offering three undergraduate programs: Automation, Intelligence Science and Technology, and Low-Altitude Technology and Engineering. Among them, Automation and Intelligence Science and Technology are National First-Class Undergraduate Program Construction Sites, and Low-Altitude Technology and Engineering is one of the first batch of programs approved by the Ministry of Education. The school has implemented reforms in innovative talent cultivation, establishing the AI Advanced Technology Elite Class (co-founded with other schools) and the Double Bachelor's Degree Program in Automation-Business Administration.
