Students of School of Automation Science and Engineering Won Gold Medal in 2016 Pan - Pearl River Delta Students Computer Competition

     On July 4th, the final competition of 2016 Pan-PRD computer work competition was held in the Macao Polytechnic. After the on-site reply, questions of experts, discussion, and collegial, 6 works won gold award and 10 works won silver award. Among them, " Video-based signature authentication system design " made by students of School of Automation Science and Engineering of the South China University of Technology won the gold award and the best innovation award.

     "Video-based signature authentication system design" completed by Fang Yuxun of the innovation class grade 12 with the instruction of Associate Professor Kang Wenxiong. This work achieved the whole process of a third-party vision-based signature gesture tracking and certification completely at the first time in the world, which had strong theoretical depth and practical value.

     This computer contest is a competition that has a great impact on college students, which plays a pivotal role in the industry and academia. It is sponsored by the Macao Computer Society and organized by the Macao Polytechnic Institute and etc. The competition attracted tens of thousands of students from more than 200 colleges and universities to participate in the district trials this year. More than 50 teams participated in the final, and the competition was extremely fierce. Two teams from South China University of Technology received excellent results in the competition of Guangdong sub-division hosted by the Computer Society of Guangdong Province, and obtained qualification to represent the Guangdong province to participate in the finals, which both won the gold award.
