In the afternoon of April 20th, a lecture entitled “the Research on Unmanned Aerial System and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle in National University of Singapore” was held successfully on the sixth floor conference room of Building 3. The lecture was held by Professor Hailong Pei and the guest was professor Benmei-Chen, the Chief Professor of National University of Singapore.
Professor Chen showed us the latest research status on Unmanned Aerial System and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle in National University of Singapore through a lot of pictures and videos. He mainly focused on helicopter modeling and it cost him six years to model the helicopter that was nonlinear and non-minimum phase systems. And he also introduced inner system and outer system and intermediate link in model. Finally, he ended the report with a simple video which showed that their aircraft got the first in final step of national unmanned aircraft competition, leaving infinite reverie to the audiences.
In the final question and answer session, Professor Chen answered all questions one by one in detail, no matter it was the challenge teachers met or the technology realization of relative application. Students got a detailed understanding about the development trend and current situation about the unmanned aircraft. They deeply felt the charm of science and technology and learned a lot from this lecture.
