School of Automation Science and Engineering welcomed an academic lecture this week.On the morning of December 25st,2015,a lecture entitled “Recent Progresses and Applications of Genuine Nonlinear Control Approaches”was held successfully on the sixth floor conference room of Building 3.This time the guest was Chun-Jiang Qian and the lecture was held by Zhi-Jun Li.
Before the lecture, professor Li gave us a brief introduction about the guest Professor Qian.Qian got his bachelor and master degree in control theory in Fudan University in 1992 and 1994 respectively and then got his PhD in electrical engineering in Case Western Reserve University. He is now the vice dean of department of electrical and Computer Engineering in University of Texas. His research interests now include robust adaptive control, nonlinear system theory, optimal control, network control system, power plant control and biomedical applications. Qian mainly introduced the newest progress and application of nonlinear control approaches in this report. He reported from four aspects, which include motivation of nonlinear control, uniform system theory, nonlinear controller design method, power generation application, and made a conclusion. His report indicated that nonlinear method in controller design based on uniform system theory can improve system performance, lift efficiency and expand the scope of security work in real system.
Through this lecture, students has learned a lot and broadened their academic vision.
