1. Training objectives
This major is intended to train senior specialists who possess solid and extensive theoretical basis and systemic expertise on the major, and have in-depth knowledge about the development direction and the international research forefront of this subject, who are proficient in a foreign language, who master the advanced methods of scientific research, and could carry on creative research and practical work.
2. Length of schooling
The length of schooling is three years (including the dissertation defense time), and cannot exceed six years in general.
3. This major covers the following research areas
1) Control system analysis and synthesis
2) Analysis and synthesis of delay and uncertainty control system
3) Networked control system theory and applications
4) Intelligent control theory and applications
5) Analysis and design of hybrid systems
6) Nonlinear control system
7) Control and optimization of switching system
4. Education methods
The cultivation of the candidates adopts the supervisor responsibility system. Candidates should develop education plan within two weeks after admission under the guidance of the supervisor and participate in qualification before the end of the third semester in accordance with "SCUT’s mid-term qualification approach of the doctor degree postgraduates", complete social practice, and give regular seminars.
5. Dissertation
The candidates should work out the development plan and write opening report in the 8-15th week of the third semester, the publication of the academic papers should be implemented in accordance with the 61st document of SCUT for postgraduates [2008]. After the completion of the thesis, candidates need to prepare for the defense according to the related regulations of the university.
6 Curriculum and credits
The candidates should complete all of the compulsory courses and some optional courses in the education plan, and must gain at least 13 credits required by the school, of which at least 9 credits are from compulsory courses and 4 credits from the optional courses.
