In the Afternoon of December 26, 2014, an excellent academic lecture entitled “Distributed Estimation, Optimization and Control for Networked Systems with Big Data” was held by the School of Automation Science and Engineering in Building 3. The lecture was given by Professor Minyue Fu, who is a professor of Department of Control Science and Engineering, Zhejiang University and a professor of University of Newcastle, Australia. He is also an IEEE Fellow and a selected candidate of Recruitment Program of Global Experts. His research interests include signal processing and communications technology, multi-channel wireless network antenna and system identification and parameter estimation.
The lecture was hosted by Prof. Weizhou Su, who is the professor of School of Automation Science and Engineering. Prof. Hailong Pei and Prof. Zhuliang Yu were also presented. At the beginning of this lecture, Prof. Fu introduced the background and development status of big data network system. He pointed out four challenges on the way of big data network system: collection, storage, transmission, processing, where the key point and the research difficulty is the processing of data. As a result, two processing methods were proposed: static big data processing and dynamic big data processing. Finally, Prof. Fu showed us the latest achievement of his team on big data network system.
