On the afternoon of November 21st, an academic lecture on the cutting-edge technologies of automation was held at Shaw Science Building by Prof. Huang Lin, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, professor of Peking University,. Prof. Li Yuanqing, Dean of School of Automation Science and Engineering, chaired the lecture. Many staffs and students attended the lecture.

At the beginning, Prof. Huang put forward a claim about the combination of science of automation and characteristics of the times, and then proved this claim step by step with four arguments. He also talked about the features of modern control. He emphasized the importance of transformation about the cognition on automation. Finally, Prof. Huang concluded that we must seize the opportunity to strengthen our country with the science of automation. Today's lecture helped students broaden their vision in automation.
