The thesis defense and internship review meeting for the first Special Talent Student Programme ( STSP 2010) of School of Automation Science and Engineering was held on October 31st, 2013 in Building 3. The review panel members are from Guangzhou Institute of Advanced Technology (GIAT) and the School of Automation Science and Engineering. The students’ final year projects were hosted by GIAT.

In June 2013, the School of Automation Science and Engineering of SCUT and GIAT jointly founded an internship base for students from SCUT. It provides the talent students a practice opportunity. This is a new cooperation mode between university and enterprise for student training. The programme lasted 3 months for the twenty-four students of STSP 2010. Under the supervision of professional researchers from different research teams, the students learnt about the cutting-edge technologies and joined hands-on practices. All the students completed the internship project successfully.
