
Prof. Tony Yeow, Chairman of National Micro/Nano Device Research, Canada, employed as a Chair Professor of SCUT
The appointment ceremony of Prof. Tony Yeow as a Chair Professor of South China University of Technology has been held in the College of Automation Science and Engineering on Mar. 8, 2011. The Dean of the School, Prof. Xu Bugong, chaired the ceremony that has been witnessed by around one hundred staffs and students from the School.
In the exciting seminar entitled “Micro/Nano Devices” given by Prof. Yeow, he introduced the cutting-edge research undergoing, especially the applications of the nano X-ray generator in the treatment of cancers, as well as mini-ultrasound generator in the treatment of cardiac and cerebral diseases.
Prof. Yeow is acting as the Chairman of National Micro/Nano Device Reseach, Canada, the Director of Advanced Micro-/Nano- Devices Lab, University of Waterloo, Canada, and concurrently as the Chair Professor of SCUT. His research interests focus on the biomedical equipments for diagnosis and treatment, as well as detection and sensing devices for industrial automation.
