一、学校简介

曼彻斯特大学，英国大学中世界排名最高的八大最著名学府之一，世界50强顶尖名校，2020年QS世界排名为第27名，英国著名的六所“红砖大学”之首，英国“常春藤联盟”罗素大学集团的创始成员之一，该校校友中共有25位诺贝尔奖得主。

曼彻斯特大学材料学院是欧洲最大的材料工程学院，也是欧洲最大的材料科学研究和教学中心，在材料学领域的“科研力量”位居全英第一。曼彻斯特大学材料学院的所有材料科学课程均获得英国材料、矿物和采矿学会(IOM3)的认证，学院拥有装备精良的实验室、教室和先进的科研设备。学院直属拥有全欧洲最大的国家石墨烯研究中心(National Graphene Institute)、世界顶尖研究员的英国国家级材料科学研究创新中心――亨利・罗伊斯研究中心(Henry Royce Institute)等。学院主要研究领域包括：生物材料、陶瓷材料与涂层技术、冶金与腐蚀工程、纳米与功能材料、高分子与复合材料、纺织与服装工程等等。（更多信息可查询曼大材料学院官网：https://www.materials.manchester.ac.uk/）

曼大的材料科学学科处于世界领先地位，在2015QS世界大学材料科学学科排名上名列世界第21位（英国第4位，仅次于剑桥、帝国理工和牛津），在2015US News世界大学材料科学学科排名上名列世界第48位（英国第4位，仅次于剑桥、帝国理工和牛津）。

曼彻斯特大学的两位研究者 Andre Geim和Kostya Novoselov成功地从石墨中分离出了石墨烯，使得石墨烯在未来能源产业的发展道路上不再是假设。这项成果使得他们两位在2010年荣获诺贝尔物理学奖。

二、项目介绍

经过我们与曼彻斯特大学的多次交流协商，目前已完成了华工与曼大的2+2本科，2+3及3+2本硕联培协议，学生参与项目，达到毕业要求，可以获得华工和曼大相关学位。符合以下各项目具体要求的同学都可以申请。

（1）2+2本科学位项目：Students of the SCUT admitted to the second year of one of the UoM’s Programmes shall, subject to completing the remaining two years of study in accordance with the examination rules of UoM, graduate with the degree of Bachelor of Science in that subject from UoM (2+2). Upon successfully completing Year 4 in the UoM’s 2+2 program and all requirements for the Bachelor Degree from SCUT, students receive a Bachelor Degree in their chosen major from SCUT.

2+2模式的学生在华工完成两年材料专业的学位课程学习后转入曼彻斯特大学，在成功完成曼彻斯特大学的两年课程并达到曼大、华工取得学士学位的所有要求后，可同时获得曼彻斯特大学以及华南理工大学的学士学位。

（2）2+3本硕学位项目：Students of SCUT admitted to the second year of UoM’s Programme shall, subject to completing the remaining three years of study in accordance with the examination rules of UoM, graduate with the undergraduate degree of Master of Engineering from UoM (2+3). Upon successfully completing Year 4 in the UoM’s 2+3 program and all requirements for the Bachelor Degree from SCUT, students receive a Bachelor Degree in their chosen major from SCUT.

2+3模式的学生在华工完成两年材料专业的学位课程学习后转入曼彻斯特大学，在成功完成曼彻斯特大学的三年课程后，可获得曼彻斯特大学的硕士学位。同时，在曼大完成第4年学习并达到华工取得学士学位的所有要求后，可获得华南理工大学的学士学位。

（3）3+2本硕学位项目：Students of SCUT admitted to the third year of UoM’s Programme shall, subject to completing the remaining two years of study in accordance with the examination rules of UoM, graduate with the undergraduate degree of Master of Engineering from UoM (3+2). Upon successfully completing Year 4 in the UoM’s 3+2 program and all requirements for the Bachelor Degree from SCUT, students receive a Bachelor Degree in their chosen major from SCUT.

3+2模式的学生在华工完成三年材料专业的学位课程学习后转入曼彻斯特大学，在成功完成曼彻斯特大学的两年课程后，可获得曼彻斯特大学的硕士学位。同时，在曼大完成第4年学习并达到华工取得学士学位的所有要求后，可获得华南理工大学的学士学位。

（4）特别说明：It is acknowledged by the Parties that it is not within the control of the University to guarantee that students graduating from this (2+n) arrangement will receive the same recognition from professional institutions or organisations as other students receiving the same degree.

三、报名要求

（1）专业：材料学院所有专业均可申请。

（2）英语成绩：English language qualifications, such as IELTS as below, or equivalent (e.g. TOEFL, Pearson): IELTS minimum 6.0 average, no component score below 5.5 and the writing component not below 6.0. 雅思成绩达到6.0分，且单项成绩不低于5.5分，写作部分不低于6.0分，或托福、培生达到同等水平。

（3）学业成绩：Achieve a minimum of 75% in the core modules at Year 1 and 2 at SCUT.

大一、大二学年的核心课程成绩平均分不低于75分。

（4）经济要求：Each student is expected to have sufficient funds to cover their living expenses in the United Kingdom. Information and details of typical living expenses in the United Kingdom will be made available on UoM’s website: www.manchester.ac.uk. 每个学生需有足够的资金来支付他们在英国的生活费用，生活标准可于曼大官网查询。

四、学费要求

Students of SCUT enrolling for the second and third years of the Programmes provided by the Department of Materials at UoM shall pay UoM’s standard annual overseas student tuition fees, less the discount, directly to UoM in accordance with UoM’s registration arrangements in place at that time. The overseas tuition fees will be subject to annual review.

UoM will offer a discount of 20% of the standard annual overseas tuition fee to students of the Programmes. Tuition fees are due at the student's registration, details of the annual overseas tuition fees will be made available on UoM’s website: www.manchester.ac.uk. 

参加2+2，2+3，3+2项目的学生在曼大的两年或三年学习中，应直接向曼大支付该校学费（华工学生可享受20％的优惠）。学生应在注册时支付学费，学费标准等详细信息可在曼大官网（www.manchester.ac.uk）查询。

五、申请与面试

报名需提供成绩单、英语（托福或雅思）成绩及个人陈述，将上述资料发到冷老师邮箱（lengwy@scut.edu.cn），邮件主题命名格式：姓名-学校名称-项目名称（如：张三-曼彻斯特大学-2+2项目）。成绩单、英语成绩及个人陈述文件命名格式分别为：中文名字-英文名字-transcripts/English tests report/personal statement（如：张三-Zhang San-transcripts），成绩单不需要原件，可发截图。学生必须提供真实成绩，如有虚假，后果自负。学院汇总后会提交给对方选拔并决定面试名单，后续会进行微信面试，主要考察学生的学习能力、环境适应能力、独立性等。

六、温馨提示

个人陈述是为自己争取机会的重要文件，主要体现：1.要表达出来对专业和去学习的强烈愿望，让对方感受到你是非常认真考虑后的选择。2.攻读硕士学位的学生需要列出几个特别感兴趣的研究方向或导师，对方会把材料特别推荐给这些课题组。3.如果英语或学业成绩中有弱项，可以说明一下，比如大一成绩不好，后来进步了，可以说自己是有潜力的。4.一定要先看对方的网站，写得有针对性，根据自身实际情况来写，切忌照搬网上内容和空话套话！最后请同学们务必认真准备个人陈述！

七、Q&A

1.在曼彻斯特大学就读期间，是否还需要向华工缴纳学费？

    在曼大就读期间，仅缴纳曼大学费，不需要缴纳华工学费。

2.什么时候截止报名？

受疫情影响，目前仍可申请，额满为止。

3.什么课程可以学分互认？

    学生所修课程内容与学校教学计划课程相同或相近的，按学校教学计划规定课程学分认定；学校无相应课程的，按通识教育课程学分认定。具体学分互认规定可参考《华南理工大学全日制本科生交流课程学分、学位管理细则》（参见学生手册）。

4.这些项目对年级有限制吗？

18级（大二学生）目前可报2+2，2+3项目，大二学年结束前往曼彻斯特大学继续学习；17级（大三学生）可报3+2项目，大三学年结束前往曼彻斯特大学继续学习。16级学生可直接在曼彻斯特大学官网申请攻读硕士，无需通过学院。19级同学可提前了解。
