International Exchange | Good News for the School: Acceptance into the University of Edinburgh

Recently, the University of Edinburgh announced the results of the 2023 2+2 undergraduate dual-bachelor degree program. Exceptional performance was displayed by the undergraduate students of the School of Microelectronics at South China University of Technology (SCUT), with all seven recommended students securing admission, resulting in a 100% acceptance rate. Among the total students admitted from SCUT, the School of Microelectronics accounts for an impressive 77%.

Established in 1583, the University of Edinburgh is located in the capital city of Scotland, Edinburgh. It is a public research university, the highest-ranking institution in Scotland, and one of the seven ancient universities in the United Kingdom. In the official 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF) ranking, the University of Edinburgh's research strength was ranked fourth in the UK, following only Oxford University, University College London, and Cambridge University. In the 2023 Times Higher Education World University Ranking, it holds the 29th position, while in the 2023 U.S. News World University Ranking, it stands at 34th. Additionally, it secured the 35th position in the 2022 QS World University Academic Ranking.

The students admitted from the School of Microelectronics into the University of Edinburgh's 2+2 program will commence their third and fourth-year studies at the university in the upcoming autumn semester. Upon successfully completing the program requirements of both universities, they will be conferred with bachelor's degrees from both SCUT and the University of Edinburgh.
