For the high-quality development of country and regional studies, Zhu Xianlong, deputy director of the Research Center of Indian Ocean Island Countries (RCIOIC), Yu Jiahai, office director, and Du Kejun, researcher of the center, went to the Overseas Chinese Research Institute of Jinan University on the morning of November 29 for academic exchange. Zhang Zhenjiang, Dean of the institute, Deputy Dean Dai Fan, Jiang Liang, Assistant Director, Researcher Shi Cangjin, Associate Researcher Li Aihui, and Dr. Zhang Beiyu attended the meeting.

Dean Zhang Zhenjiang briefly introduced the history and the current situation of the Institute. Then he shared the Institute's valuable experience in academic research, decision-making consultation, etc. He concluded his speech with the focus turning to the institute’s newest research progress in the field of Chinese studies. Deputy director Zhu Xianlong introduced the development plan, construction ideas, talent cultivation, and achievement of the RCIOIC. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on discipline construction and talent cultivation, focused on the ideas and methods of overseas Chinese research, and reached preliminary intentions on cooperation matters such as mutual visits between teachers and students as well as academic exchanges.
