The basic task for fostering virtue through education, deepening the reform of education teaching, guiding the teachers to delve into curriculum education connotation, bringing course education function into full play, November 27, 2021, sponsored by the education department of Guangdong province, Guangdong Higher Education Association, the first Undergraduate Higher Education Curriculum Ideological and Political Teaching Competition was held in South China Agricultural University. After fierce competition and evaluation, professor Zhan Shuangjuan from foreign Language School of South China University of Technology stood out in the competition and won the first prize of foreign language group.
The competition started in July, lasted more than 4 months, and all the candidates were divided into 6 groups to go through three stages of the contest including the school preliminary competition, network semi-finals, on-site finals, attracted many colleges and universities in Guangdong province to participate in the competition. The final was broadcast live online and was open to teachers and students from colleges and universities across the country. The competition items included three parts: lecture presentation, classroom teaching and on-site defense.

The course American History and Culture conducted by professor Zhan Shuangjuan fully combines professional characteristics, family feelings and national spirit, and integrates ideological and political elements into classroom teaching, which achieves the effect of nourishing things silently, and the organic unity of knowledge teaching and value guidance. In the competition, she was full of spirit and graceful appearance. She not only expressed the ideological and political connotation, but also showed her personal style. She fully showed our young teachers' profound professional foundation, solid teaching skills, flexible and diverse teaching methods, as well as the teacher's characteristic of moral cultivation.

Our school has always attached great importance to curriculum ideological and political work. Since 2018, the reform of ideological and political teaching of Education Morality course, the improvement plan of teachers' teaching ability of ideological and political course and the Four pilot works of curriculum ideological and political education have been implemented successively, striving to realize the synergy between various courses and ideological and political theory courses, and running ideological and political education through the whole process of school education and teaching. This award is another important achievement of the School of Foreign Languages in curriculum ideology and politics after it won the first two national curriculum ideological and political demonstration achievements this year. It plays a positive demonstration and leading role in promoting curriculum ideological and political construction in an all-round way, improving the effectiveness of moral education and talent cultivation.
