The First Lesson of Ideology and Politics Taught by the Secretary: "Striving for a Century and Embarking on a New Journey -- Learning and Implementing the Spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's Speech at the Party's 100th Anniversary"

    On the afternoon of September 30, Yingsi Liu, party committee secretary of School of Foreign Languages taught a wonderful education course themed on “Striving for a Century and Embarking on a New Journey” to all junior undergraduate students. He encouraged students to shoulder the missions of the new era youth, take history as a mirror to create the future, learn the Party’s history well and compose the song of struggling with their youth.


Secretary Liu introduced the background knowledge of the conference celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China(CPC) to the students, and told the history of the CPC to them, beginning with the recent hot incident of Meng Wanzhou. Focusing on the general idea of General Secretary Xi Jinping's speech at the Conference celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the CPC, he divided the whole speech into nine parts and gave an in-depth explanation to the students. Through such historic periods as “ New-Democratic Revolution , Liberation War, Reform and Opening-up, Socialist Construction with Chinese Characteristics, the hardships of CPC for a century presented itself, which clarified students’ understanding to the history of the CPC.  

The great spirit of history is passed on from generation to generation. By teaching the students about the CPC's great spirit of building the Party, Secretary Liu encouraged the students to take history as a mirror while creating the future. At present, our country is at the historic conjuncture of the “Two Centenary Goals”. Young students should hone their skills, strive for deeper and broader professional development, and lay a solid foundation for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation in the future.  


     In this class, Secretary Liu encouraged the students to study the history of the Party and understand the mission of youth in the new era. He sincerely hoped that the students should remain true to their original aspiration and keep their mission firmly in mind, shoulder the important task of national development and rejuvenation in the new era, forge ahead in the new era and create the future.
