On September 28, 2021, “the 4th China Think Tank Construction and Evaluation Summit Forum and the press conference of AMI Research Report on Comprehensive Evaluation of Chinese Think Tanks (2021)” sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Evaluation was held in Beijing. Representatives from the National Philosophy and Social Science Planning Office, the Department of Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, National High-Level Think Tanks, University Think Tanks and their competent departments attended the meeting. The think tank case Exploration and Practice of National and Regional Talent Cultivation Driven by Think Tanks Construction submitted by The Research Center of Indian Ocean Island Countries (RCIOIC) of South China University of Technology (SCUT) was successfully selected as the 2021 China Think Tank Reference Case (Internal Governance Innovation). 

Characteristic Cases of Chinese Think Tanks represents an authoritative evaluation activity initiated by the Chinese Institute of Social Evaluation, which evaluates the reported cases from three dimensions of characteristics, influence and management power. This year, a total of 454 think tanks submitted 621 Applications for 2021 Featured Indicators of China's Think Tank Comprehensive Evaluation Research Project. After several rounds of expert evaluation, a total of 63 applications were selected as China Think Tank Reference Cases  

Since its establishment in 2017, RCIOIC has been developing rapidly.
