In order to implement the general requirements of “learning Party history, understanding ideas, doing practical work and opening up new situations”, deepen the learning and education of Party history, adhere to moral education and promote the overall development of students, MTI Education Center recently held a student forum to listen to students’ suggestions and opinions. Prof. Zhu Xianlong, vice dean of the school, Dr. Xu Yangzi, executive deputy director of the Center, and representatives of English translation and Japanese translation students of the 19th and 20th grades attended the seminar.
Vice dean Zhu Xianlong firstly explained the significance of the study and education of Party history. He pointed out that the study and education of Party history should be based on learning history to understand, learning history to increase confidence, learning history to honor virtue and learning history to act, firmly adhering to the orientation of doing practical work, based on the situation of translation degree students, and solving the urgent problems of students' personal interests. Dr. Xu Yangzi introduced the latest work initiatives of MTI Education Center in daily management, and explained the notes and basic procedures of important time points such as thesis opening, professional practice and pre-defense.
At the symposium, student representatives expressed their opinions and actively suggested suggestions for the construction and development of the professional degree program. They expressed their opinions on the curriculum, dissertation, professional practice and daily teaching management with their own personal feelings from classroom study and practice. The leaders listened carefully to the speeches of the students and responded to their questions and demands one by one, recorded the problems of professional degree graduate education and said that they would make continuous improvement in the future development, effectively improve the quality of MTI talent cultivation and ensure the orderly development of daily teaching management.

Vice dean Zhu Xianlong concluded that the MTI degree program has made remarkable progress in recent years in curriculum thinking, teaching reform, professional qualification examination, training program innovation and university-enterprise cooperation in cultivating talents, but at the same time it also faces many challenges and difficulties. The college will take the opportunity of Party history study and education to focus on the key and difficult problems in the development of MTI degree program, establish a work ledger, formulate solutions and promote the training and management of MTI talents to be effective.
