The award ceremony of 2020 Sasakawa Cup Japan Research Paper Competition was held online on February 24th. Five junior students from the Japanese Department of SFL, Gao Tianlin, Hong Jingjing, Huang Jiajin, Li Yuan, Liu Jiayao, won the outstanding award, and three teachers, Jia Qi, Lu Yina, Li Jing, won the outstanding instructor award.

Awards
2020 Sasakawa Cup Japan Research Paper Competition was held jointly by JLT Advisory Board of the Foreign Languages and Literature Learning and Teaching Advisory Board under the Ministry of Education and Chinese Institute of Japanese Teaching and some other institutions. The competition started in May, 2020. The target students are freshmen to juniors of Japanese Department in Chinese universities. 371 entries were submitted by competitors from 80 Chinese universities.
The Japanese Department of SFL attached great importance to the competition, and has made preparations since June, 2020. The competition form is flexible. Students can team up and invite instructors, which fully encourages students’ autonomous learning. Under meticulous guidance of the instructors, the competitors prepared carefully, planned actively, finally lived up to expectations and achieved good results, which was a great encouragement and inspiration to other students.
