December 1-2, 2010, 14 postgraduates from School of Foreign Languagesin South China University of Technology, led by teachersfrom School ofForeign Languages and International Communication and Operation Department, had a two-day visit to the University of Hongkong.

This activity of communication and visit consisted of three parts: attending academic conferences; participating in discussion on research methods; and visiting the library and language research institutes of the University ofHongkong. During the two-day visit and communication, students and teachers from our school deeply felt the excellent atmosphere of academic and culture in the University of Hongkong .

The subject of linguistics and applied linguistics is well developed in theUniversity of Hongkong. This communication activity boosts School of Foreign Languages to cooperate with AppliedLinguisticsCenter of the University ofHongkong. It also broadens the horizon of our students. After the visit, they have made up their mind to work and combine academic research with practice and live up to our school’s expectations.(by Ying Liang)
