The opening ceremony for “The Girls’ Festival”, subjected in “Hemline of Spring”, was held in a basketball field in the North Strict in March 7, 2010.Secretary Fang Jundong and Yuan Weigen from the Party committee of South China University of Technology, the leader of our press corps Guo Xingxin and the chairman of Student Union of Post-graduates Liu Yongjia were invited as special guests.
“Blue-white Porcelain”, a dance mixed with traditional and modern features, was chosen to be the first show in the ceremony. The skillful dancers, all from School of Foreign Languages, and their excellent performance brought out sustained applause, drawing all attention from the audience.
Secretary Fang spoke highly of the effort put into the activity and announced the official opening of this festival. After the announcement, several shows accompanied by some games were performed. It started to shower at 3 o’clock, but the audience didn’t seem to be drawn out of the ceremony. They joined in all kinds of games provided by every school and had a great time instead.
As a college that doesn’t have many female enrollment, The Girls’ Festival is aimed to be on the spotlight. In the coming weeks, girls will feel warm through everything boys do that carries passion, boys in return will have a chance to better communicate with girls. May you all have a good festival!
