In order to deeply study and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, Party Secretary He Jianhua and Executive Vice President Zhu Nengwu taught the first lesson in ideological and political education to students at the beginning of this semester.

On the morning of March 8th, Professor Zhu Nengwu, Executive Vice President of the School, gave a ideological and political class titled Accelerating the Construction of New Development Dynamic and Striving to Promote High-quality Development to the 2022 postgraduates majoring in Environmental Science and Engineering and Resources & Environment, in the F3-d117 Classroom of the International Campus.

Combining the professional characteristics of the School of Environment and Energy, Professor Zhu Nengwu explained the report of the 20th CPC National Congress to the students from the perspective of promoting green development and harmonious coexistence between human beings and nature, focusing on the opportunities and challenges faced by the country's accelerated development and green transformation, analyzing in-depth the national emphasis on promoting the construction of environmental pollution prevention and control system, and introducing in detail the national environmental policy of “integrated protection”, “systematic governance” and “well-coordinated development”. He explained the meaning of harmonious coexistence between human beings and nature and analyzed the situation of Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality and the implementation methods of key areas. Besides, he encouraged the students to firmly uphold the “four consciousnesses”, maintain the “four self-confidences”, strengthen the sense of “ownership” and shoulder the historical mission, in an effort to highlight the main theme of promoting high-quality adjustment in environmental pollution control and energy industry .

In the afternoon of March 9th, He Jianhua, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, gave a lecture entitled In-depth Study and Implementation of the Spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and be a Outstanding Youth in the New Era to all Party members of the School in the B4-215 lecture hall of the University City Campus.

Starting from the theme of the 20th CPC National Congress, Secretary He Jianhua explained the important ideas, assertions and thoughts of the 20th National Congress from simple explanations to profound theories for the Party members. He explained to the students what “self-confidence and self-improvement, righteousness and innovation, vigor and perseverance” means, and explained the “three imperatives”, “three major events in the past ten years” , “the central task of the Party”, “the five important principles, “Chinese modernization”, “people's democracy in the whole process” and other important content.

Combining with the characteristics of our School, he proposed that being an outstanding youth of the new era must be fully aware of the mission and responsibility, pool together individual strengths, and forge forward with a never-slackening mentality and a never-stagnant attitude, so as to realize the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the nation through continuous struggle.
