On May 7, the acceptance and review meeting for the operation of Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory for Atmospheric Environment and Pollution Control (2014.09-2018.08 and 2017.07-2021.06) built by South China University of Technology and Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology was held in Conference Room 102, Environment Building, University Town Campus. At the meeting, Director Ye Daiqi and Professor Fu Mingli reported on the construction and development planning of the provincial key laboratory. After on-site investigation, review of relevant written materials and expert questions, the acceptance expert group agreed that the two phases of laboratory operation project had completed the index and requirements in the contract and agreed to pass the acceptance.
The acceptance expert group is headed by Professor Chen diyun of Guangzhou University, with researcher Liu Zhongzhen of Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Researcher Yu Zhiqiang of Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Associate Researcher Xiang Mingdeng of South China Institute of Environmental Sciences and accountant Li Chunmei of Guangzhou Weiming accounting firm as members. In addition, the leaders of the Provincial Science and Technology Department and the Vice Dean of the School Hu Yun, Deputy Director of the laboratory Wang Liming, Deputy Director Huang Shaobin, Deputy Director Wu Junliang, and some personnel of the laboratory participated in the meeting.
Inspection meeting site and laboratory visit
Aiming at the existing atmospheric environmental problems and pollution control needs in Guangdong Province, the provincial key laboratory has carried out research in four directions: identification of air pollutant sources, formation mechanism of composite pollution, environmental adsorption and catalytic materials, industrial waste gas purification technology and equipment, air pollution and health effects, and has made a series of important innovative achievements in the collaborative treatment of ozone and PM2.5, and the control of ozone pollution precursors in Guangdong Province, Among them, project Control Strategy, Key Technology and Application of Large Air Volume and Low Concentration Industrial Volatile Organic Pollutants won the first prize of Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award in 2020, Key Technology and Application of High-Resolution Emission Inventory of Regional Air Pollution Sources won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2015. The provincial key laboratory would take this review and acceptance as an opportunity to further optimize scientific research, technological development, foreign cooperation and social services under the goal of carbon neutrality, and continue to provide scientific, technological and talent support for solving atmospheric environmental problems in Guangdong Province and the nation.
