Prof. Zhang Yongqing and her team carried out the "study on the efficient and selective degradation of p-chloroaromatics in persulfate activated advanced oxidation system". Nano zero valent iron, copper oxide, activated carbon and natural mineral pyrite are used to catalyze the activation of persulfate to produce sulfuric acid free radicals and singlet oxygen, which can selectively and efficiently decompose chlorinated aromatic hydrocarbons in water. The technology can be effective in improving the removal efficiency of the chlorinated aromatics in water.
