Professor Guiwen Lu, member of the Royal Academy of Engineering, is a world-renowned antenna expert. He has made outstanding contributions to the fields of broadband microstrip antenna and magnetoelectric dipole antenna. He has won the second prize of National Technical Invention and many international academic awards. His report is titled An On-Body Matched Differentially-Fed Magneto-Electric Dipole Antenna for Head Imaging Systems, A differential magnetoelectric dipole array system for intracranial hemorrhage imaging is introduced. The system uses antenna array to collect reflected signals, and uses confocal imaging algorithm to reconstruct two-dimensional intracranial images. Through numerical and experimental verification, it can successfully detect and locate bleeding at different locations and sizes, indicating good clinical application potential.
Professor Liang Guohua is an internationally renowned expert on Dielectric resonator antenna, and is the first Chinese professor to serve as the chief editor of IEEE Trans on Antenna and Propagation, a top journal in the antenna field. His report titled Designs of Antennas with New Metal Lens introduces a series of design methods and ideas for antennas based on metal lenses. This type of antenna has broadband high gain performance. By controlling the amplitude and phase distribution of the metal lens, a uniform electric field distribution on the radiation aperture can be obtained, achieving high aperture efficiency.
The title of Dr. Huang Heng's report is Functional Material Integrated High Frequency Devices for Millimeter wave and Terahertz Applications. His report introduces the research progress of functional materials and the latest research results of the State Key Laboratory of Terahertz and Millimeter Waves, City University of Hong Kong.To break through the bottleneck of PIN diodes in high-frequency applications, Dr. Heng Huang introduced a series of millimeter wave and terahertz switches based on functional materials and applied them to the design of antennas, meta-surfaces, polarizers, modulators, and other applications.
During the lecture, the students asked questions enthusiastically and three experts answered wonderfully. The experts' profound academic knowledge and cutting-edge academic research content deeply inspired and benefited the audience, winning bursts of applause.
In the future, our school will gradually invite domestic and foreign experts to visit, carry out rich and colorful academic cooperation and exchange, continuously broaden the academic perspective of teachers and students, increase opportunities for cooperation and exchange, and further enhance the academic level and influence of South China University of Technology in the field of electronic information.
