The research group of Professor Xiuyin Zhang, School of Electronics and Information, South China University of Technology, published a paper entitled A 19.7-43.8GHz Power Amplifier with Broadband Linearization Technique in 28nm Bulk CMOS at the conference, with Xiuyin Zhang as the corresponding author. The first author, Weisen Zeng, Ph.D. student of the School of Electronics and Information, made a live report at the conference. The work was guided and supported by Professor Quan Xue of South China University of Technology and Professor Hongtao Xu of Fudan University. This is the first time that South China University of Technology has published a paper on ISSCC as the first unit.
Power amplifier is one of the core technologies of 5G millimeter wave communication.Due to the large bandwidth and complex modulation mode of 5G millimeter wave communication, higher requirements are put forward for the working bandwidth and linearity of millimeter wave power amplifier. This paper shows the latest research results of Professor Xiuyin Zhang's research team in the field of millimeter wave integrated circuits. It proposes the design method of broadband matching circuit based on magnetoelectric coupling and broadband linearization technology, and realizes 19.7-43.8GHz ultra-wideband millimeter wave power amplifier on 28nm Bulk CMOS. The proposed power amplifier can realize linear operation on the bandwidth of nearly one octave, covering the mainstream FR2 frequency band in the 5G millimeter wave wireless standard, and its performance has reached the international advanced level under the same technology, providing an innovative design idea for the design of power amplifier in the 5G millimeter wave communication system.
