Professor Jie Tang was awarded the Asia-pacific Distinguished Young Scholar Award by IEEE Communications Society

According to news from the Asia Pacific Technical Affairs Committee of the IEEE Communications Society, Professor Jie Tang from our school won the 2021 IEEE ComSoc Asia-Pacific Outstanding Young Researcher Award. Professor Jie Tang was awarded this honor for his achievements in the field of wireless network interference control.Based on the two-sided characteristics of interference, he started from two directions, interference utilization and interference coordination, and proposed a dense heterogeneous network interference management and control method, and achieved safe and efficient network transmission. The winners will be awarded certificates and bonuses at the IEEE Global Communications Conference in Madrid, Spain in December 2021.

Jie Tang, professor and doctoral supervisor of South China University of Technology, was selected as a young top-notch talent in the Pearl River Talent Program of Guangdong Province. He is also a member of the Artificial Intelligence Technology and Application Committee of the Chinese Institute of Communications and the vice chairman of the IEEE Green Cellular Network Working Group. At the same time, he also serves as a member of the editorial board of 5 international journals including IEEE Wireless Communications Letters and IEEE Systems Journal. Furthermore, as a guest editor, he organized several special issues in international journals such as IEEE Transactions on Green Communications and Networking and IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society.Currently, he is in charge of more than ten scientific research projects, including the general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the sub-projects of the national key research and development plan, and the research and development plan in the key areas of Guangdong Province.He has published more than 130 academic papers, including 65 IEEE authoritative journal papers (as the first/corresponding author for 35 times), 5 ESI highly cited papers, 2 ESI hot papers, which are cited more than 1,200 times on SCI and more than 3,000 times on Google.His related research work has won five best paper awards at international conferences, as well as the second prize of Guangdong Science and Technology Progress Award in 2019 and the third prize of Natural Science of the Chinese Institute of Electronics in 2020.
