Program Profile：

The major of information engineering integrateselectronic technology, information technology and communication technology,mainly studying the theory and modern technology of information detection,information transmission and information processing. Relying on the onlynational key discipline of information and communication (Communication andInformation System) in South China, this major cultivates interdisciplinaryleading talents with a high sense of social responsibility, comprehensiveinnovation ability, broad and profound knowledge system, who cansolve complex electronic information engineering problems and lead thetechnological development of the industry. The history of the major can betraced back to 1952. It belongs to the discipline of communication andinformation system. It has been running for more than 60 years after the namechanges of telecommunications engineering, radio engineering and other majors.In particular, the electronic information industry in South China hascultivated a large number of high-quality professionals who lead thedevelopment of enterprises.

Inheriting the tradition of Professor FengBingquan's emphasis on teaching reform, he has long undertaken the explorationand experiment of school education and teaching reform and achieved remarkableresults. It is one of the first national first-class undergraduate majorconstruction points, and has many national and provincial first-class coursesand excellent courses. It has won the second prize of national TeachingAchievement Award for three consecutive times. There are national experimentalteaching demonstration center, national talent training mode innovationexperimental area, national IC talent culture medium, national engineeringPractice Education Center, national teaching team, etc., to provide guaranteefor the cultivation of innovative talents.

The training of students has received strongsupport from the industry. At present, the internship base has been built withmany leading enterprises in the electronic information industry in China.
