Speaker: Patrick Chavannes

Founder of AAUPC architectural planning office, professor at ENSAB (National Higher School of Architecture, Brittany, France).He has been an architectural consultant for the French Ministry of Equipment and Transport, EURE, and an urban planning and architecture consultant for the French Ministry of Culture and Arts, POITOU-CHARENTES.


Introduction: With the maturity and global influence of European urban development in the middle and late 19th century, people gradually began to lose interest in metropolises, and slow cities began to appear and become more and more popular, representing a new mode of urbanization. This lecture will analyze the concept of slow city and discuss the significance of its development and its inspiration to urban planning and landscape design by combining some actual cases in the international arena.
