The SCUT award ceremony of “Peng's Scholarship, A+E Architectural Award, Pubang Landscape Design Scholarship” was held in the international meeting hall, LIWU building of science and technology in the evening of December 30, 2015. The directors from Shenzhen A+E Design Co.,Ltd, Pubang Landscape Design and Construction Co. Ltd, School of Architecture, as well as over 600 architectural teachers and students attended the ceremony.
Prof. HE Jingtang, the dean of the School of Architecture of SCUT, made an ebullient speech at the beginning. In the speech he introduced the abundant accomplishment of our school during the year. Meanwhile, he was grateful to the alumni and businessmen for their donations to the educational development, encouraged students to contribute society in the future.
The awards are set for our architectural students who got excellent remark in the design course. Totally 153 students received the awards.
Peng's scholarship was established in 1991 with a gift of 300 thousand yuan from PENG Jiwen, who is an alumni of 1956 in architecture of SCUT. Up to now, there are over 500 students won the scholar.
A+E architecture award, sponsored by Shenzhen A+E Design Co., Ltd with a fund of 40 thousand yuan each year, was established in 2009. The funds is set up for the excellent student who done well in the main design course with a original design work. 35 awards will be given each year.
Pubang Landscape Design Scholarship was established by Guangzhou Pubang Landscape Design and Construction Co. Ltd, in 2010, with a donation of 40 thousand yuan each year. The scholarship is mainly used to award outstanding students’ works of landscape architectural profession at grade 4 or 5 and other professions at grade 4. 24 wards each are awarded annually.
