RAO Weichun (1935-) founded Rao Weichun Architectural design Office in Kunming City in 2003. He was assigned to Yunnan Design Institute in 1958 and served as an architect, a director architect and a chief engineer successively. From 1987, He has been an adjunct professor of the Department of Architecture, Kunming University of Science and Technology. Since his retirement in 2001, He has served as general consultant engineer of Yunnan Designing Institute up to now.
Rao Weichun received awards as follow:
1984 , the second prize of National Rural Housing Design Award.
1989, Mauritius airport terminal building won the second prize of Excellent Design Award by Ministry of Construction.
1992, Award for the Science and Technological personnel with Outstanding Contributions by Yunnan Provincial Government.
1995, National Master of Design.
1995, Kunming International Trade Center won the second prize of Excellent Design Award by Ministry of Construction.
1999, China Pavilion of Kunming International Horticultural Exposition won the second prize of Excellent Design Award by Ministry of Construction.
1989 and 1999, "Folk Houses in Yunnan " and its sequel successively won the second prize of Yunnan provincial scientific & technological advances award, and the first prize of National Outstanding Scientific and Technological Credentials.
1996, AIA (American Institute of Architects) Honor Award.
