Lecture series from Doctor Dean Bruton of the University of Adelaide Australia

time: 2013-11-04

Overview:
The series is called Design, Grammar and Digital Media". It examines the role of patterns, rules and contingency in architecture, product design and art. It argues that a 'grammatical view' of designing enhances creativity and through 'reflective practice'. The impact of recent advances in digital media on the design process will be illustrated with reference to on-line, animation and visual effects. The lecture series argues that in times of global crisis, digital media has an increasingly important part to play to develop vital and efficient design outcomes for a better world.
