Objectives
This program aims to cultivate high-level scientific and technological professionals who should be equipped with theoretical research potentials and possess the solid theoretical foundation and systematic professional knowledge in the field of landscape planning and design; who are capable of conducting garden planning and design as well as landscape architecture design and researches independently; and who should also be well-developed morally, intellectually and physically.

Cultivation Mode
Students should set out a working program in the four weeks after registration and gain all the required credits in the third semester. Students are bound to participate in the stage assessment according to Master Degree Candidate Medium-Term Screening Method of South China University of Technology and complete the required social practices in the third semester.
Dissertation
Students should write Thesis Proposals in the third semester. Before applying for Thesis Defense, students are required to publish officially at least one academic paper (papers recruited in academic conferences are also accepted). Thesis defense will be arranged according to Rules for the Implementation of Graduation Degrees of South China University of Technology and Regulations of the Applications for Thesis Defense of South China University of Technology on the completion of theses.
