About Academic Research
The research is aimed to explore the comprehensive strategies in the development of human settlements. ‘Holistic thinking’ and ‘transdisciplinary methodology’ lead to the development of a framework which mainly includes environment-behavior approaches and environment evaluation (especially POE analysis). Under the concepts of sustainable development, ecological city and urbanization as a process, the research attempts to study key facts of current problems and opportunities in development of urban housing estates within specific local, social, economic and environmental contexts. Fifteen articles were published in important periodicals and a book, namely Recreational Behavior and Recreational Environment:A Study on the Housing Estates in the Pearl River Delta, was published by Chinese Construction Industry Publishing Company.
