This presentation describes joint experimental and theoretical efforts aimed at elucidating the photochemistry and photoreactivity of metallic complexes, with a particular emphasis on f-element systems. Key findings include the demonstration that a lanthanum-based complex readily facilitates the dehalogenation of organic substrates. In addition, a photocatalytic transformation of acetic acid into predominantly methane is presented, utilizing a uranyl-based photocatalyst. These case studies serve to underscore the critical role of synergistic collaborations between experiment and theory in advancing the understanding and design of photoreactive systems.
报告人简介:

Laurent Maron obtained his first PhD in Theoretical Chemistry from the University of Paul Sabatier (France) in 1992, and a second PhD in Theoretical Physics from Stockholm University (Sweden) in the same year. Following a postdoctoral fellowship at Université Montpellier 2 (1999–2001), he returned to Université Paul Sabatier in 2002 as an Associate Professor, and was promoted to Full Professor in 2008. His research focuses on the electronic structure and reactivity of metal complexes via theoretical methods. To date, his work has resulted in over 620 peer-reviewed publications.
