报告摘要:

Molecular transition metal nitrides (M≡N) are only scarcely utilized in chemical synthesis. Over the last years, we have developed access to transition metal formal nitrido species with predominant nitridyl (M=N) and metallonitrene (M–N) character, as well as the neighboring heavier metallopnictinidenes (M–Pn) and -carbenes (M–C–R). Their subvalent Pn/C-diradical ligands undergo unusual C–H and C=C bond activation reactions, enabling the first example for catalytic nitrogen atom transfer (Figure). In this seminar, the synthesis, chemical bonding, and reactivity of closed-shell complexes with subvalent triplet ligands E– (E = N, P, As, Sb, C–R) will be presented. Their prospect for group transfer catalysis will be discussed.

报告人简介:

Prof. Sven Schneider received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Humboldt University of Berlin (2003) after studying Chemistry at TU Darmstadt. Following his habilitation at TU München under Prof. W. A. Herrmann (2006–2010), he was appointed W2 Professor at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (2010–2012) and subsequently W3 Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Göttingen, where he currently leads a research group focusing on reactivity and electronic structure of transition-metal complexes, nitrogen fixation, and unusual bonding motifs such as metallonitrenes and triplet carbenes.

Prof. Schneider has received numerous distinctions, including the ERC Consolidator Grant (2015), the Academy Award for Chemistry of the Göttingen Academy of Sciences (2010), and recent international recognitions such as the Molecular Science Frontier Lecture Professorship (ICCAS, 2024) and the XingDa Lectureship (Peking University, 2024).
