On April 10, 2025, the School of Software, South China University of Technology, held a mobilization meeting for the self-assessment and self-construction of the undergraduate education and teaching audit evaluation in the B8 lecture hall. More than 70 people, including the college leadership team, heads of various departments, all faculty members, administrative staff, and teaching auxiliary staff, participated in the meeting, which was presided over by Huang Min, the vice dean of the school.
At the meeting, Dean Cai Yi first conveyed the overall requirements of the university for the undergraduate education and teaching audit evaluation work, emphasizing the great significance of this evaluation for the high-quality development of the college. He pointed out that the undergraduate education and teaching audit evaluation is a comprehensive inspection of the college's talent cultivation quality, and also an important opportunity to promote education and teaching reform and improve the school-running level. The whole college should attach great importance to it, unify thinking, promote construction, reform, management, and strengthening through evaluation, and ensure the high-quality completion of the self-assessment and self-construction work.
Subsequently, Vice Dean Huang Min elaborated on the audit evaluation index system in detail. Combining with the actual situation of the school, she arranged the key tasks, time nodes, and division of responsibilities for the self-assessment and self-construction work. The meeting required each department to comprehensively sort out all links of education and teaching according to the evaluation standards, identify problems, condense characteristics, and form a high-quality self-assessment report. Finally, all the faculty and staff of the college jointly studied the special report on Interpretation of the New Round of Audit Evaluation Plan and Key Points of Evaluation, Construction and Reform.
In his concluding speech, Zhang Jian, Secretary of the Party Committee of the school, emphasized that all faculty and staff should further raise their political stance, strengthen their sense of responsibility, and devote themselves to the evaluation work with full enthusiasm and a rigorous attitude. Taking this evaluation as an opportunity, it is necessary to further deepen the education and teaching reform, optimize the talent cultivation system, and push the undergraduate education of the college to a new level.
At the meeting, the leaders in charge of various aspects of the school also conveyed the spirit of the recent university meetings, emphasized the requirements for teachers' ethics, and made work arrangements for the recruitment of post-doctoral fellows and the study of the Degree Law of the People's Republic of China.The convening of this mobilization meeting marks the full launch of the self-assessment and self-construction work of the undergraduate education and teaching audit evaluation of the School of Software Engineering.
The school will take this evaluation as a starting point to continuously improve the quality of talent cultivation and contribute to the cultivation of more high-quality software engineering talents.
