This report provides a brief introduction to the history of face detection technology, including AdaBoost, DPM, and CNN. The common regular pattern in these methods are summarized, and some guiding ideas and solutions for the rapid implementation of algorithms are proposed. These solutions can be used not only for face detection, but also for general object detection and other deep learning methods.
Yu Shiqi, Associate Professor, School of Computer and Software, Shenzhen University. He graduated from Zhu Kezhen College of Zhejiang University in 2002 with a bachelor's degree in computer science and technology. In 2007, he graduated from the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and obtained a doctorate in pattern recognition and intelligent systems. From December 2007 to September 2010, he was an assistant researcher and associate researcher at the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
