Tan Mingkui, professor and doctoral tutor of the School of Software Engineering, South China University of Technology, acts as the director of the Computing Center of South China University of Technology, the winner of the Young Talents Program of the Central Organization Department, and a core member of the Pearl River team in Guangdong. He received a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering in 2006, a master's degree in pattern recognition and intelligent systems from Hunan University in 2009, and a doctorate in computer science from Nanyang Technological University in October, 2014. From June 2014 to September 2016, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in computer vision at the University of Adelaide and returned to work in September 2016. Nowadays, he researches on machine learning, deep learning and machine vision, such as feature selection of high-dimensional data, missing value recovery of large-scale data, and data analysis of high-dimensional complex structure, etc. Moreover, he has published nearly 40 high-level academic papers in relevant areas.
