In the afternoon of March 18th, 2010, the meeting of  teaching and administrative staff was held by SMAE of SMAE on the third floor conference room in Building 29.All kinds of work of SMAE in 2010 were deployed. The leaders of the SMAE and the faculty attended the meeting. Wang Danping hosted the meeting.
     At the meeting, the Dean-Lan Fengchong conveyed ; the clerk-WangYingjun's speech and the principle LiYuanyuan's chief spirit of the work report and pointed out the focus of the school work in 2010.  Firstly , strengthen the construction of high-level talent; Secondly, deepen the reform of innovative training model;thirdly, to further enhance the country's ability to support and contributions of force to Guangdong's social and economic development. Meanwhile ,the Dean Lan Fengchong fully deployed the focus of the school work in 2010 on behalf of SMAE and he pointed out the importance of SMAE work would focus on the three major tasks of school work and service to the goals of school's development and combine with their own subjects' characteristics and the development situation. SMAE major tasks in 2010 include the following eight areas:First,further strengthen the SMAE's party building, and ideological and political work and cultural construction; second, advance the quality of undergraduate engineering, innovate undergraduate's training mode;third, strengthen the training of graduate students, and improve the quality of postgraduate's training. fourth, pass the construction of "985 Project"and"211 Project" and to promote academic construction.; fifth , the construction work of the base of production and research innovation and alliance work;six key labs and engineering centers such as platform construction, and laboratory work with state-level. Seven,faculty's quality and talent introduction and training work;eight, strengthen international cooperation in scientific research SMAEs and universities with Hong Kong and Macao. The Dean Mr. Lan also stressed the SMAE should increase investment into all aspects ,and  hoped that teachers should  free their mind , attempt bravely  to work together in striving for the breakthrough in national awards, major projects, and National 100 doctors' papers.
     The secretary WangDanping also emphasize the three issues in the final speech. first ,it is the concern of the school's introduction of talents, she made some specific analysis and requirements aimed at several aspects of great talent introduction, the existing personnel training as well as the reserve talents;Second it is the cohesion problem, she pointed out that in face of the school new year's work tasks as well as the immediately starting of the 985 Project, teachers  should change new ideas and concepts, make more effort put into the construction of a high level of innovation platform for bigger and stronger disciplines to make contributions to the subjects. And put forward higher requirements and hope that teachers should establish the overall situation awareness and forward-looking idea, take the initiative to adapt to the development and requirements;third it is the constrction of  SMAE culture.
      All aspects of the integration of Institute is good in the past two years and has a good cultural atmosphere on the basis of of the school's strengths. the SMAE also work for the faculty to create good working and learning conditions, but teachers also need to have more enthusiasm to participate in various cultural activities and the Institute of Culture in order to make the Institute of Meteorology fresh！
