On Sept. 14, 2011, the opening ceremony for 2011 School undergraduates was held at the South Campus Academic Hall. Leaders, counselors and teacher representatives as well as all 668 new students attended the ceremony.
     Lan Fengchong, the Dean, expressed his welcome to all new students and introduced the history, teaching and research state of the School. Wang Danping, the Party Secretary, indicated her expectation to the students. She said: "Hold on your four university years, you will be able to hold on your future". Wang's speech won warm applause from the audience. Subsequently, the representatives of teachers and students addressed respectively at the ceremony.
     After, Liu Zejiang, the Deputy Party Secretary, required the students to pay attention to their personal safety, study, career planning and technological innovation. Ding Kang, the Associate Dean, also introduced roll management, course credits, personnel training.
